The structure of RescueGR is not merely administrative.
It is designed with an operational logic that allows the immediate activation of the appropriate sectors and specialized teams during an incident.
The Board of Directors is responsible for:
• the strategic direction of the organization
• operational coordination during incidents
• transparency, accountability, and proper resource management
• cooperation with the Hellenic Fire Service and Civil Protection authorities
During activations, the administration functions as an Operational Coordination Center.
Depending on the nature of the incident, the following sectors are activated:
• Urban Search & Rescue (Urban SAR)
Earthquakes, collapses, entrapments, floods, wildfires.
• Wilderness & Mountain Search & Rescue
Missing persons in mountainous and remote areas.
• Forest Fire Prevention & Firefighting Support
Prevention patrols, surveillance, and support to the Fire Service.
• Medical & First Aid Unit
Provision of First Aid in incidents and public events.
• Telecommunications Unit
Field operational communications.
Operational sectors are supported by:
