RescueGR was founded in 2006 in Thessaloniki with a shared vision: to voluntarily dedicate our skills and capabilities to the protection of human life and the natural environment. Since then, we have remained true to our motto:
“For Life and People.”
Our team consists of more than 50 active members who receive continuous training in First Aid, forest protection, earthquake response operations, and rescue techniques. We are registered in the Civil Protection Volunteer Registry and work in close cooperation with the Hellenic Fire Service for forest protection in the Seich Sou forest. We are deployed throughout Greece upon request from Civil Protection authorities.
We are also registered in the Special Registry of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Hellenic International Development Cooperation Department (YDAS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under registration number 477. Furthermore, we are members of the European Volunteer Civil Protection Teams Association (EVOLSAR).
Over the years, we have participated in rescue missions following major natural disasters in Greece and abroad, while consistently providing medical coverage at events, festivals, and sporting activities. At the same time, we place strong emphasis on educating citizens and students in First Aid and risk prevention.
Based at the Kaftanzoglio National Stadium, we continue our mission driven by volunteerism, teamwork, and our commitment to helping people in need.
